80 Day Obsession: Day 3 – Cardio Core


Hey guys!

I’m back again for day 3 of the 80 day obsession workouts. When I woke up this morning I was pleasantly surprised that my body wasn’t really very sore. I think doing the workouts in the morning is the best time to do them because you have to use your muscles all day whereas if you do them in the evening and then go to sleep for 8 hours your muscles stiffen up.

This mornings workout was our first cardio core. The workout consists of 5 cardio series which include a skip rope move, a HIIT move and a cardio move. You perform 3 sets of 30 seconds each. For the last series you perform the 5 core moves again. The length of the workout is shorter at only 40 minutes, and the only things that you need for this workout are strength slides (Hack: I’ve seen people use a towel or even a paper plate as a slider so there are definite ways that you can get through without them.


Series 1

  1. Single leg skip
  2. Single leg squat jump
  3. Mountain climbers

Series 2

  1. Heel Skip
  2. Pepper Step
  3. Pike

Series 3

  1. Butt Kicks skip
  2. From Jump/Twist
  3. Side Plank Crunches

Series 4

  1. High knees/Butt Kicks skip
  2. Skater jumps (multidirectional)
  3. Side Plank crunches

Series 5

  1. X Jump Skip
  2. Standing mountain climbers
  3. Alternating knee pulls

Series 6

  1. Knee up cross overs skip
  2. Squat jumps
  3. Circle teasers

Core Series

This workout is no joke! You don’t get much time between moves or between series for a break. Autumn is really good at letting everyone know that this is the first time that you will be performing this workout so if you need to take a breather or modify the moves then you can do that and quickly get right back into the work. I actually really liked the way that you start with a skip rope move and follow that up with a higher intensity HIIT move. The core moves are quite intense, and sometimes there were no modifiers given.

The workout felt really quick and I will tell you I was dripping sweat. Even though the workout is shorter than the previous workouts I was able to burn over 300 calories in under 40 minutes. The fact that the cast members genuinely look like they are struggling just like you makes it seem like you can get through it too.


I  can’t wait to see what the next workout ends up being.
